Overview of Mind & Body

You might be asking yourself how does my mind and body relate? And what do they have to do with anything about success. This category is going to talk about overall Health which includes mind and body. We will go over basic fitness principles that you could implement today and what benefits they have. As well as principles of healthy mindsets that will help you be able to overcome obstacles in your life. There is a good balance to have in life and it’s different for everyone. Some people may need more fitness or more mindset. The reason why this topic is so important is because it is focused on you. Your physical body and mind. And there is a direct correlation to the two of them.

Let’s go over Fitness briefly. Regular exercise has been shown to help in many areas of your life. Including weight loss, lower risk of many health problems for example; heart attacks, blood pressure, diabetes, and even depression. Not only that but many studies have shown that overall we look better as a person when we are healthier. Besides that regular exercise has actually been tested and shown to change the brain… A study in Harvard University concluded that regular exercise has improved the cells in the brain which led to increased memory, better mood, sleep, and reduces stress and anxiety.          (Harvard Study on exercise and mindset)

As we have seen a healthy body = a healthy mind. Let’s go further than that. Sure there is a correlation between the two, but what else can we do to help our mind to perform at it’s best? There are many tips and tricks that can be done to help our overall mentality. It depends what your trying to do. But since this is an overview we won’t go to deep into the rabbit hole just yet. Let’s briefly talk about the law of averages and what it has to do with you right now. The law of averages states this: The theory that the result of any given situation will be the average of all outcomes. Well what does this have to do with mindset and my life? Well actually it relates to every part of your life. Since we are talking about mindset, Jim Rohn said “We are the average of the five people we spend the most time with.” What this means if you spend all your time with people who are poor your going to be poor. On the flip side if you spend your time with people who are rich you will learn their ways and become rich yourself. Now what if you don’t have anyone to look up to or talk to that is rich. Well we will talk about mentors next time and why they are important. For now look at your life. Who are you spending the most time with? Are they helping you achieve your goals or holding you back? Will you have to make that tough decision to say I need to move on and find people who are on the same path as I am. If you look hard enough you will find those people.

Everything in our lives shape who we are and who we will become. The people we spend time with and what we choose to influence us. Whether that be healthy stimuli or unhealthy you will reap what you sow.
