How to Break the Chains You’re in.

Have You Ever Felt Trapped, Held Back, or Like Your Potential Was Being Wasted?

I wish that I could answer that question for you and say “no”, but you and I both know that would be a lie. You have things that keep you from being, seeing, and achieving greatness. You most likely have these blocks, these brick walls, right in front of you most of the time. Maybe you see some version of them and you “know you shouldn’t believe them”, but what usually happens? How does it affect the outcome of what you’re trying to achieve? Exactly, maybe there were one or two times that it worked but by and large, it still affected you.

“Well, then what the heck can I do?”

“Why does this always happen to me?”

“The whole world is against me.”

Well, the first step is to realize that you and everyone else have limiting beliefs. What the heck is a limiting belief? It’s a pretty common saying and if you’ve ever been remotely close to a Tony Robbins book or seminar you will hear this term screamed at you and beat into your psyche (in a good way). A limiting belief is something that happened, a past experience/experiences, that have caused you to believe something about yourself that isn’t necessarily true.

Are you going to jump around all the time, Ben? Yes, because I have to set the stage here. It’s vitally important you understand one of the axioms of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). People have all the resources they need to succeed and to achieve their desired outcomes inside of them already. Your brain is a supercomputer, it has seen winning strategies and losing strategies. You are more than capable of learning, adjusting, and manifesting winning strategies already.

Now, back to limiting beliefs. Like I was saying with past experiences manifesting roadblocks on our path to success, they are just that, curated by your imagination. My favorite excuse in the book for not trying something is, “I’ve tried it a thousand different ways and it still doesn’t work, maybe I’m just not the person who can do that.” Talk about manifesting a losing strategy. First of all, apply some logic to the statement. Did you really try 1,000 different ways? No. Did you try 100 different ways? No. Did you even at least try 10 different ways? No. Then how the heck do you know if you’re that person or not? You don’t, plain and simple. You just equated failure to an identity of being a loser. That’s violently dangerous to your psyche! You must be watchful of how you speak about yourself or you will become a slave to your own words. 

Statements that manifest things you don’t want for yourself must be eliminated from your vocabulary now or you will die many times before your death. These statements tend to come from somewhere. Sit down, take some time, and hammer out past experiences that have stopped you from trying something new. This is not an easy process. This process takes time, but when you’re free, you’re free! Go to the dark places where your insecurities hide and decide, “This isn’t who I am, these are just things that have happened to me and I am deciding to let them go!” Shout it, dance, move, because you’re starting your journey from who you are to who you can become.

We will get more specific in later blogs about monitoring your inner thoughts and dealing with past trauma. For now, get the concepts down and your life will become exponentially better.

All this Advice In a Nutshell

  • You are powerful and capable of all the things you wish to achieve even if your reading this thinking “I’m not that kind of person who knows they can accomplish their dreams.” Yes, You are.
  • Limiting Beliefs are just past experiences that keep you from living your life to the fullest.
  • You must monitor how you speak about yourself, internally and externally, because what you say about yourself will become true. Manifest greatness instead of pain, it really is that easy.
  • You really should sit down, with a pen and some paper, and write down exactly what your limiting beliefs are and determine how valid they really are. Odds are that they aren’t valid at all even if they seem like they are.
  • Decide that your past is your past and you are in full control of the present and future. Decide you want greatness more than you want to dwell on the past.
